Describing Shakespeare characters. Read the instructions. Don't panic. It is easier than you think.

Choose one of these characters taken from Shakespeare’s plays and prepare an oral presentation about him or her. It should last a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes. Include the words given for each character.

• Hamlet: play, character, Shakespeare, tragedy, university, Denmark, ghost, murder, uncle, mother, duel, dead.
• Romeo: play, character, Shakespeare, tragedy, Montague, Capulet, only child, enemies, balcony, dead.
• Juliet: play, character, Shakespeare, tragedy, Montague, Capulet, only child, enemies, balcony, dead.
• Katherine: play, character, Shakespeare, comedy, Bianca, Petruchio, marry, rich, temper.
• Macbeth: play, character, Shakespeare, Scotland, witches, ambitious, king, wife, forest, assassination. 
• Julius Caesar: play, character, Shakespeare, Rome, conspiracy, Brutus, murder, Idus of March, senators.

You also need to include the following information in your presentation:

• Description, both physical and personality (age, to be, comparative and superlative,... ) Use a photograph of an actor/actress or a picture to help you.
• Family relationships (family, have got, saxon genitive, possessive adjectives,...)
• Other personal information (nationality, clothes,...)
• Story (past simple,... )
• A famous quote.

Sir John Falstaff is an important character in the two parts of Shakespeare’s play Henry IV.

Falstaff is an English old man, he is about sixty years old. He is old, fat and poor. He is very intelligent and funny and he loves going out and visiting inns. He doesn’t like fighting at war because he is more coward than Prince Hal. But he is a very good person and he has got a lot friends. His best friends are Bardolph and Pistol.

In the play, Falstaff was a bad influence on Prince Hal. The day Prince Hal became a king, he rejected Falstaff and Falstaff was so sad that he died that night.

One of his most famous quotes is “What is honour? a word. What is in that word honour? what is that honour? Air” It means that he could die for something important but he will not die for something that is not important to him, like honour.
